Srinagar, Nov 28 (KNO): Describing the 3rd Edition CRPF Cup 2025 as a symbol of youth empowerment, discipline and sporting spirit in the valley, Additional Director General (ADG) J&K Zone CRPF, Rajesh Kumar, on Friday extended warm congratulations to the winners and runners-up teams. Speaking at the grand finale here at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, Sonwar Srinagar, the ADG, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said the annual CRPF Cup has evolved into one of the Valley’s most impactful sporting platforms, aimed at channelising the energy and passion of the youth in a positive direction. “Organising such tournaments reflects CRPF’s unwavering commitment to guiding the youth towards constructive and progressive pursuits. The CRPF Cup is not merely a sporting event but a celebration of unity, talent and hope,” he said. The 3rd edition CRPF Cup concluded with an exhilarating final match where Murrad 7th Street Cricket Club defeated Batwara Sports Club to lift the coveted title. Batwara Sports Club posted 181/8 in 20 overs after electing to bat, before Murrad 7th Street CC chased down the target in just 18.1 overs with 7 wickets in hand. As per the details, the Final match drew an ‘electrifying crowd’ and massive online engagement, with over 45 lakh viewers following the live stream. The closing ceremony was graced by senior CRPF and police officers. IG Srinagar Sector CRPF, Pawan Kumar Sharma, in his address, said the overwhelming participation of 123 teams in this year’s edition “underscores the growing popularity and success of the tournament”. During the felicitation, Vineet Brij Lal, IG KOS CRPF and Pawan Kumar Sharma, IG Srinagar Sector CRPF, joined the ADG in presenting the trophies and congratulating the winners for their exceptional performance. Meanwhile, the CRPF reaffirmed their commitment to promoting sports and community engagement across Jammu and Kashmir. “The enthusiasm of the players and spectators alike shows that sport continues to unite and inspire Kashmir’s youth. The CRPF Cup will continue to serve as a bridge of friendship and motivation in the years to come,” ADG Kumar added—(KNO)
